Alumnae

Who are Chrysalis Alumnae?

At Chrysalis, the diversity of women’s unique and individual journeys is respected and celebrated!  Anyone who has ever resided at New Dawn, New Day or New Way, for any length of time, is  honoured and respected an Alumnae of Chrysalis Society – for life.

All Alumnae are invited and encouraged to connect with each other online through the Alumnae Facebook Group to share successes and support w/ each other! Isolation is a big part of addiction – healthy community & friendships are foundations of recovery!!

Staying Involved with Chrysalis

In aim of fostering long-term recovery and positive transferable skills, women in our 2nd-stage programs (New Day & New Way) and Alumnae are supported to volunteer with Chrysalis.  2nd-stage residents and Alumnae support women in 1st-stage recovery by providing:

  • accompaniment
  • companionship
  • mentorship

Volunteers additionally commit to grocery shopping and accompanying new women to meetings and appointments.  Volunteers who are abstinent for minimally 9 months and demonstrate emotional readiness can commit to overnight shifts at New Dawn after receiving First-Aid Training/Certification.

Support Our Organization

Chrysalis supports those Alumnae interested to enter employment in the helping field, and we may have a career opportunity for you.

Additionally, Alumnae can contribute to Chrysalis Society through committee work, and lend our organization the invaluable benefits of their skills and experience.

We encourage and support Alumnae from all our programs to share their wisdom and experience.
